Red Carpet season was in full swing at the SAG awards where A-listers brought their A game. Like the award show itself there were winners and unfortunately, a few losers. Let’s start with the winning team– these ladies turned up the heat last night with their impeccable sense of style. Here are my favorites:
Emma Stone in Dior- my absolute favorite of the night for being a risk taker and making menswear look so incredibly chic and perfect. LOVE the dress, hair & makeup and she wore this edgy ear cuff that I need to have (well, the knock off version). #winning
Tied with Emma is Julianna Margulies in Giambattista Valli- now this is what you call a showstopper gown. From the gorgeous royal blue hue combined with a beautiful updo and natural makeup. This dress is another winner.
Julianne Moore in Givenchy Couture proves that no other ginger can pull off emerald green like she can. Always stunning.
Reese Witherspoon looked flawless in this beautiful Armani white gown. Ever so classic.
Another risk taker was Tatiana Maslany in stripes, a gown by the late Oscar De la Renta. I thought she looked flawless.
Felicity Jones looked stunning in this blush Balenciaga gown, so elegant and classic. Definitely a favorite.
This is my most improved look of the red carpet, I thought that Kaley Cuoco looked so pretty in this understated strapless red dress and the subtle natural makeup was the perfect complement.
And my worst dressed, which totally breaks my heart because some of these ladies always make my best dressed list, but you can’t always win, right?
Where do I begin, Dascha Polanco’s dress reminds me of the drapes in my grandma’s bedroom. When you have a curvy figure, stay away from white and fabrics that add inches.
Not everyone can pull off jumpsuits. Kudos for taking a risk, but it just didn’t work. Not sure if it’s the placement of the pockets or the fit– the wrinkles around the waist area are not flattering and the shoes make her look frumpy. Sorry Julia. I still love you.
This dress was not fitted properly even though she mentioned that it was sewn on her body in her hotel room. I think they ran out of the time. Also, she needs to color her roots, the contrast is too drastic. Just not working for me.
Rosamund Pike- what is happening? She really needed to be GONE.
It hurts my heart to put Lupita in this category, but I got a headache just looking at her dress. I think Elie Saab first thought florals, then went with stripes, then said, screw it, how about both? And we got this. Not my favorite, but can’t wait to see you at the Oscars. Bring it home girl!
